Lynell is known to be very polite and cheerful, as well as selfless and curious. Due to her isolation from the rest of society during her younger years, she can appear to be naive and rather eccentric. With an innate talent for magical healing thanks to her family's bloodline, Lynell cares deeply for those in need of clemency, though that can also turn her stubborn to people who decline help.She can be a bit defiant at times, usually shown with having various arguments with her mother leaving her to constantly want to make her own decisions.

Lynell was born in Gridania, the second daughter of Hildedith Blanchard, a revered Hearer, and Alder Hechtman, a Dalmascan engineer.Unlike her older sister, Lynell was born with the gift of healing just like her mother. Her family bloodline was known for their affinity to healing magicks, and for having a healthy relationship with the elementals of the Twelveswood. The girl spent most of her childhood never leaving her homeland, going through constant training in order to hone her skills to grow as a successful Hearer.After the Calamity, a period of great change came to her homeland. With her mother's permission, the young girl was able to explore the lands beyond the Twelveswood, learning more about the world and its people, realizing how different the other city-states were compared to her homeland. Free from the rules and boundaries that had defined her life, doubt clouded Lynell's mind as to what her true purpose and the promised future entailed...After a massive twist of events and a newfound clarity, the young girl found the strength to cast off all that she was taught to study somanoutics in Old Sharlayan, thanks to a generous sponsorship from a prestigious family who took great interest in her intense affinity for healing magicks. These days, Lynell flourishes as a promising student, surrounded by those who would seek to cultivate her benevolent spirit and now firmly the master of her own destiny.

The midlander girl is still studying hard in Old Sharlayan. However, she occasionally takes constant trips back and forth to Eorzea with her trusted mentor, Theodore Grayve.
